Eyes on Eagles: Sponsor the Bald Eagle Count

Each fall, Bald Eagles return to the shores of Lake Tahoe to spend the winter hunting its open waters—offering a spectacular opportunity for conservation research. The annual Mid-Winter Bald Eagle Count is a vital citizen science project that tracks eagle populations and monitors their health across the nation, and TINS coordinates the count at Lake Tahoe, which can involve as many as 200 volunteers spread across 26 survey stations. By sponsoring this important event, you’ll support volunteer recruitment and coordination, field efforts, data collection and management, and public engagement before and after the count, helping ensure these majestic birds thrive for generations to come. Partner with us to protect and celebrate the Bald Eagles of Tahoe this winter!
