Volunteer

As a small organization with a limited staff, volunteers play an important role in helping us achieve our mission and expand our impact. If you’re interested in getting involved, please fill out the form below so we can learn more about your interests and follow up with opportunities that may be a good fit.

There are many ways volunteers can contribute. Opportunities may include:

  • Office support: Assisting with administrative tasks and organizational projects.

  • Outreach and Trail Ambassadors: Helping lead natural history outings, first by co-leading hikes and eventually guiding your own.

  • Education programs: Supporting school field trips, youth programs, and summer camps.

  • Citizen science: Assisting with data collection and monitoring projects.

If you have other skills you’d like to contribute, we would love to hear from you. We are also interested in volunteers with experience in marketing, fundraising, video production, and graphic design.

For questions about volunteering, please contact Sarah Hockensmith.

Our mascot is the Western Tanager (Piranga ludovicinia), a common summer resident of Tahoe’s conifer forests.
