Dragonflies of Tahoe: Sponsor the Odonate Blitz

$500.00

Join us on an exciting expedition to explore and learn about the dragonflies and damselflies (i.e., odonates, or “odes” for short) of the Tahoe region! Each year we pick a new location around the region to explore for a full day, sometimes two, attempting to document as many odes as we can. Often experts from throughout California and Nevada may join, but this is always an opportunity for dragonfly-curious nature lovers to learn and celebrate the diverse dragonfly populations and habitats of the Tahoe region. In 2021, we made an incredible discovery by finding a species that had been missing from the region since 1914 (despite considerable efforts to find it starting in the 1980s)—an exciting reminder of how much is still left to learn! Your sponsorship will support field surveys, data collection, and public education, helping us uncover more hidden treasures in nature and ensure the conservation of these important insects. Be part of this thrilling event and help us continue our quest to protect biodiversity at Tahoe.
