IRA Charitable Gifts
Supporters 70½ years or older may want to consider this tax-saving opportunity. Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) directly from a Traditional or Roth IRA account lower your taxable income.
For those over 73, you are required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA. QCDs can be used to satisfy all or part of your RMD.
In 2026, the QCD limit is $111,000 per person annually ($222,000 for married couples). You can direct a gift from your IRA to a qualified charity, without having to count the distribution as taxable income.
