Celebrating 15 years of Research, Outreach, and Education

15 years of Pioneering Research

Research is the foundation of everything we do at TINS. We conduct impactful applied research to deepen our understanding and use this knowledge to inform land managers, as well as our education and outreach programs. Our long-term datasets and new discoveries provide critical insights that inform conservation efforts and promote sustainable stewardship of the region’s natural resources.

15 years of Inspiring Future Generations

Our youth education programs ignite curiosity and foster a love of the environment through hands-on experiences. By exploring Tahoe’s unique ecosystems through nature walks, science camps, and classroom programs, TINS cultivates future conservationists dedicated to preserving the region’s natural heritage. Through these programs, we have reached over 70,000 students.

15 years of Engaging the Community

From long-term, large-scale monitoring efforts more targeted outings, our collaborative approach ensures that local knowledge and enthusiasm fuel meaningful scientific discovery. By inviting volunteers to participate in bird counts, pollinator surveys, and education programs, we empower our community to become active contributors to conservation science.
