South Lake Tahoe Camps

We are thrilled to be offering five weeklong day camps this summer. For 2018, we have the following camps:


campers with netsCampers Ages 6-8

Bug Camp - At various locations in South Lake Tahoe, investigating campers will look under logs and rocks, among plants, and in tree bark in search of hidden insects. They will also learn what these bugs eat and their important jobs in the ecosystem all while playing games, working on art projects, exploring Tahoe's natural beauty, and making new friends.

Note: Drop-off locations will vary by day. Usually carpooling with other campers is a good option and can be arranged by you and other parents on the first day of camp.

    Dates/TimesJuly 9-12, Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-1pm

    Cost: $150; $125 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science members

Campers Ages 8-10

Animal Kingdom - At various locations in South Lake Tahoe, CA, campers will observe and learn about animals of all shapes and sizes, participate in fun animal-based art projects, play games, explore five different groupsof the animal kingdom, and have fun in the sun exploring in nature! Campers will learn the unique roles that various animals have in our local environment and much more. It 's sure to be a fun and WILD time!

    Dates/Times: July 30- August 2, Monday-Thursday9 am - 3 pm

    Cost: $185; $160 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science members

Campers Ages 9-12

Tahoe Explorers - As this camp is designed for adventurous kids, campers will explore Tahoe's wildlife and watershed, learn about forest ecology, and experience the geology of the Tahoe basin. Campers will hike, kayak, play games, and learn from various natural science experts. Transportation and all activity fees are included.

    Dates/Times: July 16-20, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

    Cost: $280; $245 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science Members

Scholarships

Thanks to generous donations from our supporters, scholarships are available for all South Lake summer camps.
