Truckee/North Shore Camps
We are thrilled to be offering two weeklong day camps this summer, in partnership with KidZone and Northstar! For 2015, we will be offering the following camps:
Campers Ages 4-12
Insect Adventures - Tahoe Institute for Natural Science and Northstar are partnering during these two days of nature camp to learn about insects in our local environment during the two-day nature camp. Campers will have fun under the sun with their peers, while being able look under logs, among plants, and in tree bark in search of hidden insects. The meeting location will be at the Children's Ski School at Northstar Village, in Truckee CA.
Dates/Times: August 11-12, 9:30am-3pm
Cost: $125 per day; $199 for two consecutive days (price includes lunch)
Campers ages 6-8
Junior Entomologists - In various outdoor locations around Truckee, young campers will look under logs, among plants, and in tree bark in search of hidden insects. They will also learn what these bugs eat and their important jobs in the ecosystem. Note: Transportation is needed. Usually carpooling with other campers is a good option and can be arranged by you and other parents on the first day of camp.Campers Ages 6-8. NEW: this year the Junior Entomologist camp is now one hour longer!
Dates/Times: July 13-16, Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am- 1:00 pm
Cost: $150; $125 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science or KidZone Museum Members
Campers ages 9-12
Tahoe Explorers - Campers will learn about wildlife ecology, forest ecology, water ecology, and geology of the Tahoe basin while hiking, kayaking, and learning from various natural science experts. Transportation and all activity fees are included.
June 22-26, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm - Truckee
Cost: $280; $250 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science or KidZone Museum Members
