South Lake Tahoe Camps

We are thrilled to be offering three weeklong day camps this summer and NEW this year, two of our camps will be based at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. For 2016, we have the following camps:


campers with netsCampers Ages 6-8

Junior Entomologists - At Taylor Creek Visitor Center in South Lake Tahoe, young campers will look under logs, among plants, and in tree bark in search of hidden insects. They will also learn what these bugs eat and their important jobs in the ecosystem. Note: Transportation is needed. Usually carpooling with other campers is a good option and can be arranged by you and other parents on the first day of camp.

Dates/TimesJuly 25-28, Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am - 1 pm

Cost: $150; $125 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science members

 


Campers Ages 8-10

Animal Kingdom – NEW - At the Taylor Creek Visitor Center in South Lake Tahoe, CA, campers will observe and learn about animals of all shapes and sizes, participate in fun animal-based art projects, play games, explore five different typesof the animal kingdom, and have fun in the sun by exploring in nature! Campers will learn the unique roles that various animals have in our local environment. It will be a fun and WILD time!

Dates/Times: June 27-July 1Monday-Friday9 am - 3 pm

Cost: $200; $175 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science members

 


Campers Ages 9-12

Tahoe Explorers - Campers will learn about wildlife ecology, forest ecology, water ecology, and geology of the Tahoe basin while hiking, kayaking, and learning from various natural science experts. Transportation and all activity fees are included.

Dates/Times: July 11-15, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Cost: $280; $245 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science Members

Thanks to generous donations from our supporters, scholarships are available for all South Lake summer camps.
